netgear FVS318N with SoftEther client

Post by maui » Wed Aug 13, 2014 11:59 am

Hi,
does anyone have successfully accessed a VPN with FVS318N through the SoftEther Client software?

I would like to buy a netgear FVS318N but I would need to know if this VPN firewall can work with SoftEther Client...

thank you
Maurice

Softether client needs a softether server and not some vpn router.

If I look at the specs of the netgear you can create site to site vpn tunnels via IPSEC.
Softether vpn server supports IPSEC should maybe you could you that on the other site.

Hi mesa57,
do you mean that you think I can use softether client to connect to the netgear vpn firewall using IPSec mode?

or do you think I could connect to netgear just as per softether instructions:
https://www.softether.org/4-docs/2-howt ... ient_Setup

thank you again

You can use the netgear proset client to connect via a tunnel to the netgear.
