Hi,
Did you try searching? there are good router brands that come with built in VPN feature and easy to setup,
I don't know about your major in the university but if u like to dig down in tech stuff there are free router OS in the internet (BUT I have to warn you attempting to install these kind of things without knowing what u r doing could cause your router to get bricked ) these OS's comes with VPN built in them.

Hope that this helped :D
