Hi Everyone,
I am trying to use my college wifi which uses advance filtering techniques to block traffic to social network sites, torrents, video sites, Blogging sites, etc. Is it possible to bypass it using SoftEther VPN. If yes, will the college administration be able to see what am I accessing or what website I am visiting? Is the connection between the VPN server and my computer encrypted so that the college can't get the log on what sites I am visiting.
Thanks.

Re: College Proxy Bypass
There are many ways to accomplish what you want without setting up a VPN.
1: try using Https instead of Http. Many filters don't block Https whereas they block Http;
IE: https://www.facebook.com NOT http://www.facebook.com
2: You could use a proxy for browsing (search google for instructions and open proxies)
3: you could RDP, LogMeIn, teamview or the like to log into a PC at another location and use that PC to browse
4: Lastly, in answer to your question, if you set up a VPN, then all data on that VPN is encrypted. Unless there is a keyboard/screen recorder or some monitor loaded directly on that PC your using, there is no way to snoop on the encrypted VPN packets for visible data and you can use the VPN for browsing as you want.
